All sections wear a navy short sleeve shirt, navy/black shorts (not sports shorts), black shoes, and the group scarf and woggle. 

Formal Shirt 

The Sea Scout uniform that all youth members wear is a navy shirt with the Scouts NZ logo and embroidered fern on the pocket, group scarf and woggle, black shorts or trousers, and closed in shoes.  This is our formal uniform and is worn in the winter months (terms 2 and 3) and at all official events or when indicated. 

The formal shirt can be ordered online from Scouts Direct – Sea Scouts Uniform.  You could also check Trade Me or your local Facebook group for second hand shirts. 

Activity Shirt 

Orewa Sea Scouts wear a maroon activity shirt during the summer months (terms 1 and 4), during camps, hikes, beach play, and at informal events or where mentioned and we source it locally.

We are slowly transitioning into a new style of activity shirt as the original style is no longer being produced.  We have some of the ‘old’ style activity shirts available – these are $35.  The cost of the ‘new’ style activity shirts is $45.   

Badges

We recommend new shirts are washed before sewing any badges on as it may shrink and distort the badges.
