The Orewa Sea Scouts Hall (known as the “Ship”) is available for hire on weekdays (daytime only, outside our meeting times) and on Saturdays.
Hall hire is unavailable on Sundays and during long weekends.
Strictly no alcohol is permitted on the premises, and we do not cater for weddings, 21st birthdays, or graduation events.
Our ship is ideal for birthday parties or celebrations, community groups meetings, fitness groups lessons and school groups.
The ship is large and spacious and with its direct access to the beach and Arundel Reserve makes it an ideal location for your function.

We have the following amenities and equipment:
- Kitchen facilities include oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, basic utensils and crockery
- Separate boys and girls bathrooms
- Trestle tables and chairs to seat 50 people
- Whiteboard
- White wall for projector
- Max capacity: 50 people
Hire charges are used to help sponsor youth places within the group
Overnight stays are a restricted activity which only Scout Groups and Girl Guides can apply to. We don’t make any exceptions due to our insurance policy.
Please note that the ship is closed for annual maintenance from the end of Term 4 (mid-Dec) until the start of Term 1 (Waitangi Day) every year, and we don’t take any bookings during this time.
