Fees
Joining Fee
- $35 – joining fee to cover scarf, woggle and badgesย
Uniform Fees
- $45 – Activity shirt worn during Terms 1 & 4 (order online here: Activity Shirt)ย ย
- $42 – Sea Scouts formal navy shirt worn all terms (order online from Scouts Direct – Sea Scouts Uniform)ย
Term Fees
- Invoices are generated in week 2 of each term and are due for payment in full by end of week 4.ย ย ย ย
- Fees can also be paid annually.ย ย ย

Currently around $285 of each fee is passed as an annual levy to help the Scouts Association run scouts in New Zealand, the group is billed for this on week 5 on a termly basis. The rest of the fees are used to run the weekly meetings, provides badges, maintain the building and watercrafts, buy equipment and subsidise some events. All adult members of Orewa Sea Scouts are volunteers and are not paid for what they do.
Camps & Events
- Many of our optional weekend events and activities are covered by the group fees with no additional charges.ย
- Camps and sleepover are charged cost only to cover the accommodation, transport, food, activities and leaders costs (as leaders pay with their time).ย
- For larger events like Jamboree and National Regatta the Scouts and Venturers are able to fundraise a large portion or even all of their attendance fees.ย
Non-Payment of Fees
- Fees are to be paid in full by the end of week 4 (with 1 automatic reminder when due).ย ย
- If a member has not attended by week 4 of a given term and has not paid the term fees then the Section Leader will follow up with the parents/guardians.ย
- If fees remain unpaid by week 5, when the Scout Association NZ fees are due, the member will be removed from the Orewa Sea Scout Group. They will be placed back in the waiting list, and their place will be made available to the next person in the waiting list.ย
Refunds Policy
- If your child is no longer going to be attending, then please contact your Section Leader immediately, or you will continue being responsible for paying term fees until your childโs membershipโฏisโฏclosed.ย
- Any request for refunds will be processed less any Scouts Association NZ National Levy paid right up to the date you are cancelling your Scouts membership with us, unless agreed otherwise.ย
- The Membership Officer and Group Leader are required to agree any refunds that include the Scouts Association NZ National Levy.ย ย
